Description
A clean way to chase Rally Cap in MLB The Show 26 is to build the inning yourself rather than wait for it to happen in a normal game. The 70-point achievement asks you to start an inning behind, then collect seven hits before that inning is over, with every play handled on the field. Since the game arrived on March 17, 2026 with Aaron Judge on the cover, plenty of players have paired achievement runs with other modes and resources, including MLB 26 stubs for their wider Diamond Dynasty plans. For Rally Cap, though, the important part is setting up one very controlled first inning.
Build the right opening
Start in Classic exhibition mode and open the settings menu first. Put both Hitting Difficulty and Pitching Difficulty on Beginner. That gives you friendlier pitches at the plate, while making the defensive half easy to finish. At team select, place your controller on the away club on the left side so you bat in the top half. Custom lineups with big power are useful, and a created park with shallow walls can make life easier. Your opening target is small: score one run, then make two outs. A quick home run followed by a couple of bunts works fine. Pause while it is still 1-0 with two away, then move your controller to the home side before the third out happens.
Make the deficit count
Finish that last defensive play as the home team. When the bottom of the first starts, you will be batting while down 1-0. That is the moment Rally Cap needs to recognise. Now keep the inning alive and stack hits. Beginner pitching often leaves the ball in a very hittable area, so there is no need to chase stuff outside the zone. Short swings and line drives are safer than trying to blast every pitch into the seats. You are not trying to win the game in one swing; you are trying to avoid three outs long enough to reach the required total.

Keep difficult balls playable
If you lift a ball that looks like an easy catch, pause before the play finishes and use Team Select to take the fielding side. Pull the nearest defender away from the landing spot, or mishandle a ground-ball throw, then return control to the batting club before the result is settled. It feels a bit fiddly at first, but you will get the rhythm after a few plays. Each ball that drops safely adds to the same-inning count. Keep an eye on the outs and stay patient. On the seventh hit, the achievement should appear straight away, and any earned MLB stubs can remain part of your separate roster-building routine while you move on to the next target.
