Description
We are hiring Software Tester is responsible for testing software applications to identify defects, verify functionality, and ensure that products meet business and technical requirements before release. The role involves creating test cases, executing different types of testing, documenting defects, and working closely with developers and business teams to deliver high-quality software.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze business and technical requirements to understand application functionality.
Prepare test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
Perform functional, regression, integration, system, usability, and exploratory testing.
Execute manual test cases and document test results.
Identify, reproduce, document, and track software defects.
Work closely with developers to investigate and resolve reported issues.
Perform regression testing after bug fixes and application changes.
Verify that defects have been properly resolved before closure.
Conduct cross-browser and cross-device testing where applicable.
Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and release validation.
Perform API testing using tools such as Postman when required.
Execute database testing and validate data using SQL queries when required.
Maintain accurate test documentation and defect reports.
Support test automation initiatives where applicable.
Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Provide quality feedback and recommendations to improve the software development process.
Ensure applications meet defined quality, performance, security, and usability standards.
Required Skills
Good understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC/STLC.
Strong knowledge of manual testing techniques.
Ability to write clear and effective test cases.
Strong defect identification and reporting skills.
Familiarity with defect-tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
Basic knowledge of SQL and database testing.
Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman is an advantage.
Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Basic knowledge of automation testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress is an advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
1–4 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance preferred.
Fresh graduates with relevant testing knowledge or certifications may also be considered.
ISTQB certification is an advantage.
