Description
Bank Teller is responsible for handling customers’ day-to-day banking transactions, including cash deposits, withdrawals, cheque processing, account-related services, and customer inquiries while maintaining accuracy, security, and compliance with banking procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Process cash deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and other routine banking transactions.
Receive and verify cash, cheques, and other payment instruments.
Count and balance cash accurately at the beginning and end of each shift.
Verify customer identification and account information according to bank procedures.
Issue receipts and transaction confirmations.
Assist customers with basic account and banking-related queries.
Process cheque deposits, withdrawals, and other instruments as applicable.
Identify and report suspicious or unusual transactions.
Maintain confidentiality of customer and account information.
Follow bank policies, internal controls, KYC requirements, and security procedures.
Maintain accurate transaction records and documentation.
Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate complex issues when necessary.
Promote relevant banking products and services when appropriate.
Coordinate with other branch staff to ensure smooth customer service.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
Knowledge of basic banking operations and financial transactions.
Previous banking, cashier, or customer-service experience is an advantage.
Fresh graduates may be considered for entry-level positions.
