Description

An extraction route can turn a winning fight into a bad trade when another squad holds the approach. The key is to notice when pressure is closing faster than your team can deal damage. Before a run, review useful equipment plans such as ARC Raiders BluePrints and decide what gear supports a quiet exit.

Disengaging is not simply turning away. It is a short sequence: identify the threat, break sight, regroup, then move toward an alternate route while opponents are still deciding whether to follow. A calm callout gives everyone the same immediate goal.

Read the Fight Before Choosing a Route

Watch how many opponents are firing, where their shots come from, and whether they can see the exit. If their aim overlaps your approach or one teammate is already pinned, a frontal push is likely to cost time and supplies.

Use audio as a warning, not a perfect radar. A nearby reload, footsteps changing direction, or fresh gunfire can reveal a pause or a new angle. Compare those cues with cover and team positions before committing to a move.

Use Terrain to Break Sight

Terrain is most valuable when it interrupts sight. Move behind a ridge, thick structure, or rock line, then pause long enough to check whether the squad has lost its angle. Crossing open ground while still visible invites another burst.

Prefer a route with several covered pauses over a straight sprint toward the obvious exit. A side passage, lower slope, or loop around a structure may add distance but reduce exposure. Avoid assuming any route is safe until you can see it.

Keep Your Team Close, Not Clumped

Keep enough distance that one burst or explosive does not catch everyone, but stay close enough to share cover and respond to a call. Stagger movement: one player watches while the others cross to the next safe position.

When retreating as a group, name a landmark and move in the same direction. A teammate who runs off alone may draw attention, lose support, or force the rest to split between rescue and escape. Regroup before pushing onward.

Counterattack Only to Make Room

A short counterattack can create a gap when opponents are reloading, changing position, or focused on a different threat. Use it to interrupt their aim long enough to cross to cover, not as an invitation to chase.

Solo players should be even more selective: break sight, change level or direction, and avoid firing unless a clear opening protects the next move. In a small squad, assign one player to cover the withdrawal while others move, then switch roles.

Success means preserving options, not winning every exchange. If the route remains watched, take another covered line, wait for attention to shift, or leave valuable ground behind. A measured retreat keeps the team capable of choosing its next fight. Before a later run, check loadout needs and buy ARC Raiders BluePrints if they fit your plan, then return to the route with a clear exit priority.
