Description

Anyone who's worked in pharma QA knows the drill. Stacks of batch records, each one needing a line-by-line check against SOPs, and one missed signature or unexplained deviation can hold up an entire release. OCR tools helped a bit — they turned scanned paper into searchable text — but they never solved the actual problem. They can't tell you if a value looks off, or if a note scribbled in the margin matters. That part still fell on tired reviewers working through the same documents for the hundredth time. What's changing now is that newer AI tools don't just read the batch record, they actually check it — comparing entries against specs, flagging things that don't add up, even picking up on messy handwriting. It's not perfect, and it still needs a human to sign off. But teams using it are cutting review time down significantly, and catching errors earlier instead of during an audit when it's too late to fix quietly.
