Description
Production requirements vary with the feed route and the required wax grade, so the Polyethylene Wax Processing Plant is configured around thermal cracking of polyethylene waste or refining of polymerization-derived wax. The process can include feed pre-treatment and melting, cracking or fractionation reactors, condensation and separation, filtration and purification, followed by finishing through flakers, pelletizers, or micropowder mills.
Temperature and residence time are controlled to maintain product viscosity, molecular weight, and melting point, while heat recovery is incorporated into the process. Inert gas blanketing is used to prevent oxidation, with PLC-based control for process operation. Polyethylene wax processing plant configurations can be adapted from pilot scale to full commercial production and can produce flakes, pellets, or powder grades.
